Assignment for Week of 3/23
Here is your assignment for the week (Due Monday March 31):
The second and third tutorials (spaceship interface and love-o-meter).
You may want to bookmark this page.
Pay attention to functions, statements and variables used in current and previous projects.
Build the circuits used in the spaceship interface and love-o-meter projects. You will have two circuits completed. Document your work and be sure to identify your post with tags and categories.
Check out the video tutorial and the tutorial in your book.
Check out any links referenced in the tutorials, book, Arduino site or blog post. You might also refer to your fellow makers’ documentation.
Ask questions and raise your hand early.
Pace yourself and manage your expectations (start simple and understand your circuit).
Take photos along the way and save several versions of the same code for comparison.
Make liberal use of comments.
Comment out to debug (troubleshoot) errors.
Focus on the process. Save detailed rants for your personal blog (or office hours! LOL!).
Don’t quit! It is easy to let frustration get the best of you. If you do not understand a problem or subject, make a note and explain what you do understand. Post your work and work with fellow makers (instructors included) to resolve issues.
Don’t procrastinate… start early so you have time to submit questions, get answers and rework your ciruit/code.
Take a break. Eat. Sleep. Do something else.
Schedule a check-in for office hours. Sometimes, you just need to be next to someone so you can bounce ideas or play Pong. Sign up. Show up.
